20th Anniversary Celebrations
The first of the three JBS 20th Anniversary celebrations was held on Saturday night, October 8, at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Washington, DC. The second and third celebrations are coming up at the end of the month in San Francisco and Olympia. As these events are held, we will post information about them on the JBS Insider, including photos when they become available. The first postings are now available and include:
- Two PowerPoint presentations were created to showcase JBS International’s history from 1985 to the present. One presentation provides corporate highlights from the first 20 years. The other focuses on our current projects and staff; this one contains the statements each project submitted about what the staff want to be known for. We hope you find both PowerPoint presentations informative, interesting, and fun!
- Gail Bassin and Jerri Shaw were honored by having their names placed in the Book of Lives and Legacies at the National Women’s Hall of Fame in Seneca Falls, New York. The tributes that were submitted on behalf of the employees of JBS International are posted here so you can learn more about the two women who, with Ray and Michael, founded this firm and are now its Chairman/Managing Director and President respectively. They’re even more amazing that we all thought they were!
In addition, JBS International employees arranged with the International Star Registry for Jerri, Gail, Michael, and Ray to have a star registered in each of their names. The four received framed certificates commemorating this event. We think the four stars constitute a new constellation. Look for it at the tip of Ursa Minor (the Little Dipper)!
Special thanks from all of us to Gail Bassin – NOBODY knows how to plan a better party than she does!!

Either Microsoft PowerPoint or PowerPoint Viewer is required to view a PowerPoint Slide Show file (extension: .pps). Most of the computers at JBS have one of these pieces of software. If, when trying to view the file, Windows says that it can't find the appropriate program to open the file with, please submit a request for PowerPoint Viewer through the IT HelpDesk.
